Description
A Excellent conditioned U.S.A.F. B-36B(BM-033) in flight, C.1948/1950. Card is standard size.
This is the
eighth of 73
B-36B models
(most of which were later converted to
B-36D
or RB-36D standard). Shown here with
Red Tail
and outer wing markings for Arctic operations. The B-36B was also flown by the 7th BG(H), joined at Carswell AFB in 1949 by the 11th BG(H). Initially flown with
six 3,500 hp R-4360-41 engines,
and
as stated above, ALL were Converted to B-36D standard which were
fitted with four J47-GE-19 engines, two each underneath the wing and positioned outside the last Piston engine.
Twenty-two D-models were built and
64 conversions from B-36B models
